Very nice changes to retribution paladins in patch 4.01

Well, if you love retribution paladins and haven't yet seen this article from WoW Insider, now's your chance. I've been keeping up with Cataclysm changes, of course, but this is a very nice write-up of how the new paladin resource, Holy Power, is supposed to work.

I have to say I'm excited. There are some new spells in there which will make rotations more interesting and also give us more options depending on the fight. Patch 4.01 should hit in a couple of weeks or so and this will give everyone the opportunity to try out the new talents and mechanics before Cataclysm. Hopefully there's enough time to get used to them.

Speaking of Cataclysm, I think I'm gonna start yet another paladin on a Horde server just to level up with the new system. It's gonna be a Tauren paladin and I'm gonna spec him retribution/holy. I've long been curious as to how holy paladin healing works.

Retribution changes are looking good so far but I can't say the same about other classes that I play. Healing in particular has me worried. But that's a subject for another post.

I think the seals will cause the most tinkering, although the reduction of the Blessings is absolutely fantastic. Say goodbye to Pally Power.

Heh heh yeah, I love that they aggregated the blessings. In any case I wasn't using Pally Power but now our blessings are more powerful.

Regarding the seals, I wish they made them easier to figure out, instead of having to read elitist jerks. It should be fairly clear from the description and their effects which seal is best for healing, tanking, dps-ing single target, dps-ing multiple targets and so on.

gl with the holy spec. the new spells should make it more fun. personally, i didn't/don't like paladin healing, i much prefer healing as a shammy.

I hope to try healing on my future shaman as well. Still, I'm curious as to how pally healing works. If I don't like it, that's fine, no biggie. And like you said, the new mechanics and spells will probably make it more fun.
