I don't know why but it seems that I'm suffering from a rare form of WoW-disease called "altitis". Almost a month into Cataclysm I don't feel the urge to level my level 80 characters anymore. I don't feel the urge to run Cata dungeons or heroics on my hunter (level 85) or my priest (level 82). I don't have the urge to level my professions or even make gold like I used to during the first few days.
What I do feel like doing is leveling these 2 new alts of mine: my dwarf shaman (currently level 50) and the worgen druid (level 43). I'm guessing that old leveling itch is back.
Woe is me! Is this terrible disease going to kill me? We will have to wait and see. In the meantime I'm off to level my alts some more.

I so understand this. I have a 46th level paladin I'm just itching to play. Gotta love this game...
Darth,
I can relate. My hunter is 83, my Druid is a few bars away from 83 too, but I have a fire mage who's 71 that I was playing but now my attentions have turned to my Goblin priest. I had no intentions of leveling her, I had made her to play the auction house. Well, she's now level 35. I've picked up engineering and Inscription.
I put a few glyphs on the AH yesterday and already made over 1k from that. It will be interesting to see how that goes. Anyway she's cautiously checking out the Inscription game and having a blast healing and occasionaly queuing as DPS. She's my 3rd priest.
Yeah it's bout to happen to me too. I SOOOO want to play around with the Goblin's always-get-the-best-discount racial ability.
I am going through the exact same syndrome. All I do on my main is the new cooking and fishing dailies (to SLOWLY level the skills lol). I have a lvl 32 Goblin Rogue and 71 Troll Shammy that are just more fun to play than my 85's (hunter and dk) or 80's (Pally, alt hunter).
Go figure!
As I've noted on here a couple times, I really feel like you and I share a brain. I feel exactly the same way! I log on to my 85 hunter, do the cooking daily, and then end up herbing on my druid for a couple hours so my death knight can make flasks for my guild (I don't raid myself, but I stock the gbank). The whole time I think "why am I not leveling my rogue/paladin/mage/warrior?" I really can't figure out why I should gear up my hunter, other than the fact that the murloc T11 armor looks cool. Time to get back on the goblin rogue and level engineering.
So hey I guess there are more weirdos like us out there eh? :)
Back in Wrath, some of you might remember that I really got sucked into heroics with several different chars (hunter, paladin, priest). That was all I did.
Now... not so much. My goals are to level those 80s to 85 whenever I get the chance (if I get the chance) but in the meantime have fun with the new toons. What really sucks is that you have to get to 80-something in order to level some of your professions.
I'm with you, Darth. I can't stop leveling. While the high level content is awesome, it's also over in 5 levels. You've probably got two years in front of you to grind dungeons and heroics. So why rush it? I'm slowly leveling my rogue "main" while enjoying the old world content on many different characters.
I've discovered that with Cataclysm, you don't even have to leave the continent you start on. My Blood Elf warrior is currently at lvl 50 now and will finish the entire 12-60 run in Kalimdor. I haven't even seen Eastern Kingdoms yet (besides Belf starting zone). There's a lot to explore in this expansion!
Well said Jerry. "It's all over in 5 levels".
I haven't done any quests either with my shaman and druid in Eastern Kingdoms. The zones flow nicely into each other.
Yeah, I'm leveling an Alliance alt Pally and a BE Mage right now rather than work on getting my main to L85. I guess I should get Q moving, but I'd rather just let him fish in the Dal fountain for a while. Maybe it's the realization that if I started questing with him in the Cata zones that I'd never get back to playing my alts for a while, but who knows? I'm just having fun with these other alts.
The important thing is to have fun, regardless. For me (and it seems for many of you) at the moment having fun = leveling and tanking with my druid.
Until the next expansion we have a long way to go, at least another 1.5 years, so there's time for everything.
I cant stop making new characters now that i have made every class i think i will stick with one and try to get him up
\\//\\// (()) \\//\\// is the best game ever
