Green Proto-Drake Take 2

Is luck following me around in WoW? Perhaps. My Hunter's Mysterious Egg hatched into a Green Proto-Drake, less than 10 days after my Death Knight got the same. Funny thing is that I won't be using this mount. It's simply too large on the screen to the point where I find it annoying.

Ha, I got this yesterday on my main. I was pretty happy :D

Not sure how much I'll use it over my Albino Drake, but I'm going to be using it for the time being to show it off. I don't find it that big, but I have been riding dragons for months.

@veliaf how do you like that big wiggly butt on the drake?

@Darth

Do you mean the Albino Drake, sorry? I don't mind it, I'm used to it - prior to getting it from the achievement I had a Red Drake from Wyrmrest which had the same model, and previous to that I had a Netherdrake which again has the same model.

If you meant the Proto Drake, I'm not a huge fan of the bumpy way it flies, but I admit it does fly as it should - it's supposed to be some sort of pre-dragon ancestor, and I reckon it ought to be a bit clumsy. I just wish it walked forwards the way it walks backwards...

@veliaf, yes the Proto AKA Great Wiggly Butt :D

not sure if it will help but you can zoom out even farther with
../console cameraDistanceMax 50
the number can be set for anything to bring the max zoom out farther for more screen space

@Sar now there's a great tip! I've always thought that the maximum zoom out was too low.

Tehre also a slide bar in your options menu somehwere, although the more zoomed out the more demand on your PC.

*cough* There is ---

but nothing will get you out further than the /console command. and 50 is the highest value that it accepts. The slider doesn't seem to get you quite out all the way.

I tried is and it's like Holeeeeey Crap!! Dudes this is just like when I discovered auto-run after I reached 60 on my first character :))

@Joe, if you're reading this, could you do something to your blog to allow people who don't have a Wordpress account to post? I really don't want to create yet another account. Seems like every major site has their own login system.

Im envious, been farming this on two alts for months and the closest I got to it was the mini protodrake pet.

First time reader here, Nice blog you have here. Im a pseudo solo player myself, Im in a raiding guild as a social, as I used to raid with them. I got a new job and many of the social aspects of the game are tricky to work around on weekdays, especially raiding, which i find a bit of a drag anyway.

On the other hand I quickly lose interest in the game if I cant talk to old friends and do the odd raid/heroic. I barely played when many of them transferred away for a while during the BC.

Are you completely solo and unguided all the time ? Or do you just avoid raids/instances ?

I rather like the solo play style, my main challenge at the moment is a lvl 80 of every class, I have been playing on the same server mostly for 4 years, so I have plenty of 60+s to bring me to the goal.

One of the more enjoyable aspects of levelling these is hitting 80 and do solo quest lines and rep for some nice items before I start into heroics.

Im also trying a characters or two well geared for pvp and PVE, as I learned when my friends were transferred, leveling an alt, trying to pvp/pve in greens and then switching to the next alt sucks the joy out of the process.

@oshin thanks! I'm completely solo, but I do have my own one-man guild :D That's how I like it though. I used to be in a guild a long time ago, in Classic WoW but I was hard-pressed to attend raids and eventually I caved in. I quit WoW for a year.

The pull was too strong though and I eventually returned but vowed never to get involved in raids and guilds again. So far it's been working great for me. There really is no single-player RPG out there that can compare to WoW's single-player experience.

I had a real-life friend at one point, whom I actually introduced to WoW and he became a big raider. He helped me occasionally with some difficult stuff but eventually he left for other realms.

I really don't miss playing in a social setting. I do meet nice people in game and I am very friendly and helpful but that's where I draw the line.

Hey Darth, i think i have sorted the issue, although the site displays things like NAME, EMAIL, WEBSITE, then COMMENT, you dont have to fill any but the comment bit if you so choose :D

Hope that helps!
